NERIST M.Tech. Admissions 2021 : GATE/non-GATE

North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) is an Autonomous, Deemed University situated at Nirjuli in Pampum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh. Established in 1984, this institution is fully funded and controlloed by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, Government of India. This institute is managed by a Board of Management, comprising Representatives of Dept. of Education, GoI from the eight beneficiary states of North East India, AICTE and Educationists.

M.Tech. in CSE and IT

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NERIST offers 2 M.Tech. programs. Their details can be found by clicking on their names -
The Maximum number of intakes in both the programs are 22 each. The details can be found in the Information Brochure.

Important dates

The last date of Online Submission of applications have been extended and the Entrance test has been postponed till further advice. The current update is as follows,

Application procedure highlights

  • ALL Candidates have to Register on the Online Application Portal.
  • After that, candidates need to apply for relevant branch/stream.
  • Non Refundable Application fee INR 1000
  • Candidates need to keep soft copies of relevant educational documents, score cards handy at the time of application.

Admission Categories & Selection Procedure

There are 2 categories of Admission - GATE and non-GATE

GATE

  • Candidates should have a valid GATE score in CS
  • Candidates are exempted from the Written test
  • Students will be given GATE Scholarship as per norms

non-GATE

  • Candidates may or may not have a valid GATE score
  • Candidates have to appear for a Written test and/or Interview. The name of the test is NEPGET.
  • There will be total 100 questions
  • There will be 25% negative marks for each wrong answer
  • Students will not be eligible for GATE Scholarship
